Doris Kloster is an artist and curator working in Paris and New York whose unique vision has found expression in art books, international art exhibitions, installations and videos. She earned a B.A. in Art History, from Boston University and an M.A. in Fine Arts from New York University. Her works are included in the permanent collection of MoCA Beijing, The Red Army Museum in Moscow as well as various private collections. Kloster’s artwork has been exhibited at the “Salon Exhibition” at Huan Tie Times Art Museum in Beijing; the “DMZ Art Festival” at the Outdoor Exhibition Gallery at Seokjang-Ri Art Museum in South Korea and in 2008 at the Beijing Museum of Contemporary Art in an exhibit titled “Link and Connection Future”. Her works were included in the Neue Galerie Graz am Landesmuseum Joanneum Stadt Museum exhibition, “Phantom der Lust”, where an article she wrote was published in the exhibition catalog.
Kloster curated “An American Summer in Paris”, at the Mona Bismarck Foundation in Paris in 2011, and “12 Hour Time Difference, Women Artists from the East and the West”, at Zero Field Art Center in the 798 Art District in Beijing in 2009. Kloster’s work has also been exhibited in “Phantoms & Nightmares” at the Historial de la Grande Guerre Museum in Péronne, France in 2011 and “Soviet Nostalgia: Images of a Forgotten Era” at Galerie Blue Square in Paris in 2009. On the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, 2012 Kloster created an exhibition entitled “She Views Herself” at Galerie Sator in Paris which featured an international roster of emerging women artists working in painting, photography, sculpture and video. This exhibition has been mounted three more times since then -- with corporate sponsors Oddo & Cie and Paul Ricard in 2012 and Air France in 2013.
