Angela Su received a degree in bio-chemistry in Canada before pursuing visual arts. By adopting existing scientific belief systems, Angela creates works that prompt us to contemplate our own being, our inscription in space and in time. Her two series of works, De Humani Corporis Fabrica (Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, 2003) and Paracelsus’ Garden (Grotto Fine Art, Hong Kong, 2007), consist of a series of biological drawings that combine the precision of scientific sketches with a mythical sense of aesthetic to challenge our position and perception of the ecological and evolutionary system. Angela’s works have been exhibited in 2nd Shenzhen Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, He Xiangning Art Museum, and Rossi & Rossi, London. Her works are also included in this year’s Biennale of Sydney.
